Ben Fitzgerald has been named Best Contractor Accountant at The Contracting Awards 2025

We’re proud to announce that Ben Fitzgerald, Sapphire’s Head of Contractor Accounting, has been named Best Contractor Accountant at The Contracting Awards 2025.

The judges praised Ben for delivering consistently high standards of client service and measurable commercial impact – from retention and referrals to expert support across Personal Service Companies (PSCs), SMEs, SPVs, and tax advisory clients.

Ben also drives team development. He leads targeted training aligned to business goals, delivering measurable results – including an 80% year-on-year KPI improvement for a team member who had a slow start in 2023. Since joining Sapphire in 2017 as an Accounts Apprentice, Ben has completed his AAT and ACCA exams and progressed to Head of Contractor Accounting, where he now leads efficiency initiatives and sets annual targets.
